Industrial Design
Industrial design focuses beyond what a product looks like and how it works. An industrial designer looks towards how society use products and services. The tools developed in the industrial design paper extend to thinking techniques, ergonomics - how people interact with their physical environment.
There is a tangible component to this paper that includes manufacturing and material analysis that can lead to informed decisions on sustainable practices to positively reduce waste to benefit society. Should 3D design detailing be of interest we run Solidworks in this paper also to allow to develop 3D animations of your ideas.
This paper attracts interest from student that my be part of other science degrees, more notably from 200 level and has in the past 3 years included real world client projects developing snowboards, drink bottles, scientific measuring equipment, transport devices and conceptual nappy recycling systems.
